This tour provides a quick tour of the city and a half hour drive to the North Shore for stops at the historically designated properties.
Sites of interest include the Dalvay-by-the-Sea resort property, a drive along the Shore Road in the Dalvay-Brackley National Park, a stop at the Covehead lighthouse and beach and the Dunes Gallery with their eclectic gift shop and beautiful gardens. We visit the Acadian village of Rustico and the lobster fishing town of North Rustico for a review of our world famous oysters, mussels and wild Canadian lobster industries.
On to Cavendish via the Gulf Shore Road in the Cavendish National Park to the Cavendish Beach look-off and then to Green Gables of Lucy Maud Montgomery Anne of Green Gables fame. On our return to the City we will stop in New Glasgow for a stunning view from one of the highest points in PEI and a visit to the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company to sample some of their world renowned preserves. An optional stop at the Island Honey Winery to hear their story and sample their great products. We can arrange a lunch stop if you prefer to sample our excellent Island cuisine.
